Towns and villages

Urban environments in Gran Canaria are currently undergoing an intriguing transformation. After the urban planning disasters of the second half of the 20th century, signs of a renewed focus on architectural quality are beginning to emerge. Whether the outcome is truly genuine remains to be seen, but there's a noticeable shift indicating that change is in the air. I strive to capture not only the architecture but also how these places are experienced.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a multifaceted city. In its neighborhoods, history and opulence coexist with simplicity and warmth. Here, the old and the new confront each other in a fascinating dialogue, creating a rich urban fabric where layers of the past blend with future perspectives.

Villages around the island

Exploring the true heart of Gran Canaria involves getting away from the major cities. In the most unexpected corners, one discovers little gems that contend with a series of inconsistencies, both surprising and profoundly human, that shape an authentic and unique profile that I haven't found anywhere else in the world.

PHOTO BOOK

Gran Canaria. Letters from the Atlantic

The photos above are part of this book (in Spanish and English), which represented nearly three years of work, is a commission from the publishing house, based in Lanzarote, Ediciones Remotas. It marks the beginning of the Cicerone Collection, composed of travel books by authors: a personal vision from a photographer of each of the Canary Islands, supported with practical information about what is shown. The idea is to journey through the island alongside a photographer through their images and recommendations, revealing not only the places to visit but also the people and experiences to embrace.

But above all, the book is dedicated to my son, who was born in 2016. Through letters I address to him accompanied by the photos, I attempt to explain him what motivated his mother and me to decide to settle back in Gran Canaria.
