Idiosincrasia
What does it mean to be Canarian? Can one truly be Canarian? As a Canarian, can I assert that I have my own identity? How much of it is genuine and how much is imposed? After years of photographing the Canary Islands, especially Gran Canaria (its historical and cultural heritage, its landscapes, the people who still practice traditional crafts...), I would like to start an exercise now to try to answer some of the questions that have arisen while doing these assignments. I’ll probably end up with new questions instead of finding answers.
